Young dogs need an age-appropriate plan; discuss suitable activity with a veterinarian instead of assuming a puppy can join an adult running routine. Brush the coat regularly and be prepared for heavier shedding periods.
Questions for your household
Before enquiring, decide who will handle walks, brushing and training when work or travel changes your usual schedule. Discuss how the dog will be supervised around children and other pets.
