Choosing a puppy begins with the daily life you can offer, followed by clear information about the individual dog and the people responsible for it. If you are enquiring in Amritsar or planning delivery elsewhere in Punjab, use this checklist before agreeing to a booking. A favourite breed or an attractive photograph is a starting point for questions, not proof of a suitable match.
1. Describe the home the puppy would join
Write down who will care for the dog during the day, your available space, the time you can give to training and grooming, and the support you will have when travelling. Include other animals and children in the conversation. A seller should be interested in these details, not simply in closing a sale. Think about the adult dog’s needs as well as the puppy stage.
2. Ask who bred and raised the puppy
Ask who the breeder is, where the puppy was raised, and how you can learn about its parents and early environment. Clarify whether the person you are speaking with is the breeder or is arranging the enquiry. Where possible, arrange to see the setting and meet a parent; if something cannot be shown, ask for a clear explanation rather than filling in the gaps yourself. Kennel-club buyer guidance encourages this kind of transparency.
3. Match records to the individual dog
Ask for the puppy’s date of birth, current photographs or video, and the records that are actually available for that dog. Discuss its current routine and what information would be handed over. Ask which breed-relevant screening information exists for the parents and have a qualified veterinarian help you interpret health records. Do not treat a registration document or a photograph as a guarantee about the puppy’s future health or temperament.
4. Compare breeds with your routine
Read our Shih Tzu, Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd guides to prepare specific questions. Discuss the individual dog instead of relying on a breed stereotype. Website breed illustrations show general appearance; they are not photographs of puppies currently available to reserve.
5. Put the proposed booking in writing
Before paying, ask for a quotation that identifies the puppy and explains the agreed price, any delivery charge, payment steps and applicable cancellation or return terms. Read the actual terms and ask about anything unclear. Keep the seller’s contact details and your correspondence. This checklist does not create a refund promise or replace the terms agreed for a specific booking.
6. Separate collection plans from delivery assumptions
Alex Dog World’s only physical office is at D6, Guru AmarDas Avenue, Ajnala Road, Amritsar. Contact the team before travelling. We have delivery experience across most cities in Punjab, but your exact address, proposed date, transport and charges still need individual confirmation. Our delivery enquiry guide lists the points to discuss. An online enquiry does not reserve a puppy.
Before you say yes
Take time to resolve unanswered questions. If details conflict, photographs cannot be tied to the individual puppy, or someone pressures you to pay before giving clear information, pause the booking. When ready, contact Alex Dog World with your city, preferred breed and the questions you want to discuss. Training, grooming and boarding enquiries are for Amritsar only.
